Jamshedpur, June 26: Two notorious thieves were arrested within an hour of committing theft at a house at Dhirajganj under Adityapur thana area in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district about five km away from here on Friday dawn.
The thieves identified as Rahul Lohar and Bablu Ansari were nabbed by a patrolling party near Adityapur Muslim Bustee while returning from Dhirajganj with the booty which includes Rs 2.6 lakhs in cash and gold ornaments.
Revealing about the breakthrough, Seraikela sub-divisional police officer, Harvinder Singh said that during patrolling the area, a police party spotted two youths moving in a suspicious way near the I-Road of Adityapur Muslim Bustee at dawn today.
“On being asked, both the thieves tried to dodge the police by giving vague reasons but when they were interrogated properly the duo confessed their crime. The two also brought forth the cash and the gold ornaments they had stolen from the house in Dhirajganj, ” said Singh while talking to the media.
The police had subsequently taken the arrested thieves to the house where they had committed the theft while carrying out the spot verification.
The SDPO said both Rahul Lohar and Bablu Ansari had criminal records for theft and burglary and were released from jail together just a month ago.
