Daltonganj, Nov. 5: In the latest update on the United Bank of India (UBI) locker fraud case, the town police have successfully retrieved the mortgaged gold and gold contents from the ICICI bank, Daltonganj branch.

Lagatar24. com had hours ago, carried a story to this effect which spurred the police to renew its efforts to retrieve the mortgaged gold and it got success by 5 this evening.

A K Mahatha, officer-in-charge of the town police station Daltonganj, told lagatar24.com that the town police have succeeded in retrieving 606 grams of gold from the ICICI bank Daltonganj today.

This gold was mortgaged by the fraudsters who had broken the lockers of seven people in the UBI for obtaining gold loan from two financial institutions; ICICI Bank Daltonganj and Muthoot Finance, Ranchi. The gold from Muthoot Finance is yet to be retrieved.

This retrieval is seen as a major achievement of the town police which has revived the hope and trust of the victims of the locker fraud in the police.

Mahatha said he believes that Muthoot Finance, Ranchi will be wise enough to cooperate with the police as they can’t take any alibi not to allow the police to retrieve it for holding the test identification parade of gold and gold contents for the benefit of the 7 victims of this fraud.

He further said that once the mortgaged gold from the Muthoot Finance Ranchi is retrieved then the long-awaited test identification parade of gold and gold contents will be conducted with due permission from the court.
