Jamshedpur, Feb 5 : Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda on Saturday hailed the Union budget and urged the Jharkhand government to make use of budget provisions for the development of the state.
Addressing newsmen at his Ghorabandha residence here this afternoon, Munda said the Union budget formulated a roadmap of economic development for 25 years and the state government should derive benefit out of it.
He referred to the allocations made in education, National Health Mission, Ganga Rejuvenation Plan and also budgetary allocations made for the Jharkhand government towards devolution of Central Sales Tax.
Munda also hailed the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan aimed at making logistics connectivity seamless across the length and breadth of the country.
He described the Gati Shakti plan – a massive infrastructure development undertaking – to encompass the engines of growth, namely roads, railways, mass transport, seamless multi-modal connectivity.
According to Munda, the Gati Shakti project aims to create a synergy between infrastructure and logistics, both of people and goods, and the location of projects.
During the press meet, which was specially convened for discussing the various facets of the Union budget, Munda also elaborated on the provisions made for defence, banking and sunrise sectors.
