Jamshedpur, Sept 13:  The Covid -19 vaccination has crossed the 10 lakh mark in East Singhbhum, suggest figures available from the district health department.

Officials said this was possible due to the massive vaccination undertaken in both the urban and rural areas of the district during the last one month.

The vaccination drive also got momentum ever since district administration started a drive at the Keenan Stadium last week.

Health department officials said on Monday 3000 doses of Covishield and 200 doses of Covaxin would be given away at the Keenan Stadium,  through a walk-in mode.

Apart from this, vaccination doses would be administered in 26 urban centres and 123 rural centres on Monday.

Three centres in urban areas would provide vaccination for people of 45 and above age group while the rest of the 23 centres would administer the vaccination to the 18 and above age group.

Dhalbhum SDO Sandeep Kumar Meena, who is also the in-charge of the vaccination cell expressed satisfaction over the jab drive.

” The vaccination drive is going on smoothly in the district. We will further intensify the drive for better coverage, ” he said.

Data from the health department suggests that on Sunday over 18,000 people got their first dose of the vaccine while 8,341 people got their second dose.

On Sunday two Covid positive cases were found in East Singhbhum while two Covid patients recovered.
