Jamshedpur, Sept 9: A local Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Bablu Singh was injured when two bike-borne youths opened fire on him at Barbera , close to the Tatanagar railway station on Thursday morning.

The incident took place at around 10.40 am when Singh, a resident of Traffic Colony in Bagbera came out of his house on a bike and drove towards the Railway Running Room near Tatanagar railway station.

The two bike- borne youths suspected to be Sanjit and Ajit who allegedly had personal enmity with Bablu Singh opened fire when the latter reached near the Railway Running Room.

Bablu Singh, the president of the Bagbera unit of Vishwa Hindu Parishad was lying in a pool of blood while the duo fled the spot.

Bagbera police soon reached the spot and rushed the gun-shot victim to Tata Main Hospital ( TMH) where his condition was stated to be critical. They recovered three empty cartridges from the spot.
