Dhanbad, Sept 9: Langar prasad arrangement, first of its kind in a temple in Jharkhand, will start soon for devotees visiting Basukinath Temple Dumka.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ravishankar Shukla announcing this said that the Langar facility would help thousands of devotees who visit Basukinath from across the country as well as abroad, to eat and take away ‘Prasad’ of ‘Faujdari Baba’ to their home from here.
While holding a meeting with representatives of Basukinath Panda Dharmrakshani Sabha, the deputy commissioner announced a Master Plan for providing international standard facilities and beautification of Basukinath Temple premises for devotees.
“Lakhs of devotees visit Basukinath Temple round the year. Especially during the month-long Shravani Mela, more than 40 lakhs devotees visit here for worship. If international standard facilities and beautification are provided, they would return home with a high impression of Basukinath. This will create a new impression of Basukinath among people across the country as well as abroad,” said Shukla.
While rolling out the ‘Master Plan’ for the development of Basukinath, Shukla said that a two-storied Bhawan (hall) would be constructed in place of the present dilapidated Kalkatiya Dharamshala as Langar Hall. “Visiting devotees would eat here and take away Prasad for home after worshiping Faujdari Baba,” he said.
Under the Master Plan, Kanwar Path right from Lathiyajoriya to Basukinath Temple would be renovated before Shravani Mela 2022. Shivganga would be cleaned and beautified in a planned way for the attraction of devotees.
The district administration has also decided to set up a number of Dharmshalas for visiting devotees and construct Shankar Bhawan, Hawan Kund on the campus of the temple.
Panda Dharmrakshni Sabha president Manoj Panda and general secretary Sanjay Jha highly appreciated the renovation plan of the district administration especially the restoration of facilities for devotees and said the Master Plan would attract more people visiting here. On the occasion, Dharmarakshni Sabha also handed over a memorandum to the DC for the chief minister demanding the opening of the temple for general devotees.
