Ranchi, Feb.19: Congress MLA Amba Prasad was asked to ‘go back’ by a section of villagers in Jhumri Tand under Keredari police station area of Hazaribagh when she turned up in the village for a meeting on the issue of displacement.
The villagers accused the MLA of disturbing the atmosphere and creating unrest in the area by provoking the villagers in Keredari for vested reasons like their parents did in Dhenga-Chirudih, where four villagers were killed early in October 2016 when police opened fire on them.
The villagers were allegedly protesting on the direction of Prasad’s father Yogendra Sao and mother Nirmala Devi after National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) acquired their land and allegedly did not give proper compensation.
The situation came after Prasad organized a meeting violating section 144 imposed by the district administration.
The villagers not only asked the MLA to go back but also showed her black flag to mark their protest against her ugly design to create hindrance in the operation of coal project.
