Jamshedpur, March 30: Semi-burnt body of a youth was found on a bridge in the Saranda forest division under Gua thana area in West Singhbhum, about 160 kms away from here on Thursday afternoon.

Beside the body were found Aadhaar card and Voter’s Id from which the deceased was identified as Dilip Kumar Das, a resident of Jhinkpani thana area in the same district.

After finding the body lying on a road-bridge at an area which had influence of naxals till recent past, some passers-by informed the Gua thana. Getting the information, a police party reached the spot and recovered the body for the post-mortem.

A police official said this could be a case of murder and also a case of suicide.

“We consider it to be a case of murder because there was no point for the deceased who resided at Jhinkpani, about 80 kms away from the spot, to commit suicide there at Gua.  But at the same time, we are compelled it to be a case of suicide because the Aadhaar card and Voter’s Id were lying beside the body. In the case of murder, both the documents would have been burnt with the body, ” explained the police official while talking to lagatar24.com.

The police official who is posted at Gua thana said much depends on the autopsy report and statement from the deceased’s family members to determine whether it is a case of murder or not.
