Chatra, April.3: With police recovering five rifles, including two AK-47, one Insas and two country made rifles, DIG Narendra Singh confirmed that three were looted from police. He said they are trying to know from where it was looted.

Singh said the recovered 2-AK-47 and one Insas were looted from police. He said they will circulate wireless message in the country to ascertain as from where and when these rifles were looted. He termed this success a team effort claiming that other then Chatra and Palamu police, Cobra 203 and CRPF’s 134 battalion were also involved in the anti-Maoist operation.

Singh said the police team has given a befitting reply to Maoists by killing their top leaders. “We have avenged the killing of a CRPF jawan by Maoists in October last year,” added he. Singh warned Maoists to surrender or to get killed. “Take the benefits of the surrender policy of the state government otherwise we will plan similar operations to kill them in coming days,” he added.

Singh said total reward money was more than Rs.60 lakh and so it will be distributed among team members who had participated in this operation. “We will even send recommendation for gallantry awards as well,” added he.
