Ranchi, May 22: A West Bengal girl, Puja, staying on the third floor of Shubham Hotel behind the power office under the Argora police station for four days was found lying unconscious on the ground in a house campus beside the hotel on Sunday midnight.
Primary investigation suggested that she fell down from the roof top but it could not be ascertained whether she jumped to commit suicide, or someone pushed her with an intention to kill her.
The girl is undergoing treatment at RIMS and not out of danger. Police started a probe into the matter with the help of CCTV footage. So far police recovered an empty beer bottle and concluded that there were three more girls with her in the night.
The girl is from 24 Pargana district of Bengal.
The Officer-in-charge of Argora police station said prima facie it appears that she fell down in an inebriated condition.
