Workshop on ‘Stress Management and Suicide Prevention’ in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Aug. 18: ‘Jeevan’ Suicide Prevention Centre conducted a two-hour workshop at Arka Jain University for about 85 first year students of BBA on ‘Stress Management and Suicide Prevention’. The management of Arka Jain invited Jeevan to conduct this workshop to create awareness regarding the significance of mental health among students.

National Secretary, Befrienders India and Deputy Director, Outreach, Jeevan Gurpreet Kaur Bhatia took the first session on ‘Understanding and Handling Stress’. She spoke about the stressors, identification of physical as well as behavioural changes in a person due to stress and depression. Being aware of the symptoms and being mindful about changes happening in people around us can help save many lives.

Preeti Saini, Consultant Psychologist, took the second session on ‘Win over Stress Anxiety and Depression’. She made them do Stress, Anxiety and Depression tabulation to help evaluate their feelings and reactions to different situations.

Both the sessions were interactive. Faculty members and program coordinators were also present and appreciated the way the workshop was conducted.
