Jamshedpur, May 2: XLRI ‘s Delhi NCR campus conducted the second convocation ceremony for the students of the PGDM (BM) batch on Monday.
Under the aegis of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, gold medals for overall academic excellence, for women students and for all-rounder were given to Yudhvier Malik, Aarha Shah and Rishikesh Promod Nair respectively.
Fr. George Sebastian, Vice Chairman of XLRI, declared the convocation ceremony’s opening by lighting the lamp.
Then, Fr. K. S. Casimir, director, XLRI Delhi-NCR presented the yearly report and highlighted the achievements of the students congratulating them on attaining 100 % placements.
He accentuated that this feat enabled our institute to further consolidate its position among the top ten institutes in the country in terms of placement.
Fr. S. George congratulated the graduating students on their performance and reminded them to continue being climbers and not succumb to the more comfortable position of campers and quitters in their professional journey.
He then presented the Fr. E. Abraham Medal for Industrial and Management Development to the chief guest Pushp Kumar Joshi, Chairman, HPCL, during the function.
Addressing the students, chief guest Joshi said “Just having IQ and EQ Is not sufficient they also need to have SQ (spiritual quotient).” In his view Corporate life is only a subset of life, Life is much bigger and encompasses corporate life also. So a proper work-life balance is important.
He congratulated the students on successfully completing their degrees and harped on the importance of making the most of the time available to them. He also impressed upon them the importance of continued learning throughout one’s professional career.
