Daltonganj, May 13: A contingent of 19 patients, who complained about cardiac symptoms or cardiac ailments has been sent to RIMS Ranchi under the Jharkhand Hirday Chikitsa Yojna.
Palamu civil surgeon Dr Ashok Kumar, district programme manager Deepak Kumar Gupta and others flagged off the bus which carried them today.
The bus rolled down from the Gole Ghar of the Medinirai medical college hospital in Daltonganj this morning.
The civil surgeon said, “These 19 are those who have some issues with their hearts. We have sent them to RIMS Ranchi where a panel of senior and experienced team of cardiologists will examine and screen them and decide if the issue with heart is to be cured or contained with medicine or by surgery.”
The contingent of 19 includes even one year child, said the district programme manager, Deepak Kumar Gupta.
The civil surgeon said there is a facility for free treatment and even free surgery for a confirmed cardiac patient.
The Jharkhand state health department has reached an MoU with Prashanti Medical Services and Research Foundation an NGO which arranges cardiac surgery at Rajkot and Ahmadabad.
