Ranchi, Nov.11: Three youths from Kashmir, who come Ranchi every year in winter to sell warm clothes produced in their native state, were allegedly assaulted by a city youth and asked to leave the city. The city youth threatened the Kashmiri youth of dire consequences.

The matter came to the fore when the youths, Bilal Ahmed, Sabbir Ahmed and Wasim Ahmed, informed the police regarding the incident and requested for their security.

Officer-in-charge of Doranda police station, Ramesh Kumar Singh, confirmed the incident saying an FIR was registered in this connection and the probe is on.

Asked OC Kumar regarding the nature of injury he said: “Injury is minor”.

A police official said the primary investigation suggested that the youth who had been threatening is a drug addict and all efforts are going on to arrest him.

A city resident said the matter appears to be a fall out of some of the recent attacks on non-Kashmiri labourers in Kashmir by terrorists.
