Jamshedpur, July 8: If Met statistics are any indication, a weak monsoon has resulted in deficit rain in all the 24 districts of Jharkhand.

Against a normal of 255.3 mm, Jharkhand has so far received 148.1 mm, a deficit of 42 percent.

Districts like Chhatra, Pakur, Ramgarh and Jamtara were facing scanty rainfall (deficit between 60 and 99 per cent)

Ranchi was facing a rain deficit of 39 percent while Jamshedpur was facing around a 20 percent rain deficit.

Bokaro was facing a 37 percent rain deficit while Deoghar and Dhanbad were facing a rain deficit of 44 percent and 28 percent respectively.

Hazaribagh was facing a deficit of 48 percent while Palamu was facing a 52 percent deficit. Similarly, all other districts figure in the rain deficit list.

Weathermen predicted light to moderate rainfall activity in some districts on Friday. They ruled out the possibility of heavy rainfall due to weak monsoon activity.
