Ranchi, Aug.31: Two days after a youth in drunken stage created ruckus in the campus of National University for Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), the Jharkhand High Court summoned additional chief secretary Arun Kumar Singh, state police chief Neeraj Sinha, senior superintendent of police (SSP) Kaushal Kishore and Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi Rahul Kumar Sinha and directed them to take proper care of the security arrangement of the law institute.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Ravi Ranjan and Justice S.N. Prasad directed them to deploy lady constables in the NSURL hostel and raise its boundary wall to ensure proper security to the students residing there for study and research in the field of law. The high court said that it will do further hearing in the matter on September 9.
Earlier, the SSP said the police arrested the youth who had entered the law institute campus. He was identified as Dharamveer Baitha, a resident of Pithoria police station area. He was sent to jail on Tuesday, he said.
A youth under the influence of alcohol had created a ruckus after entering the Girls Hostel located on the NUSRL campus on Monday midnight. On receiving information about the incident, the Kanke police station reached and arrested the youth. Later, the matter was brought into the knowledge of NUSRL.
