CBSE to train teachers in financial literacy, use of digital tools

Ranchi, Nov 5: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to train teachers in financial literacy and the use of digital tools through a workshop.

The session will focus to create awareness about basic financial planning, how to avoid falling prey to phishing and cyber frauds, etc. This will help educators stay updated to plan their future in a better way. This initiative is part of Activities related to the Investor Education and Awareness Initiative in terms of SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulations, 1996.

The Board has released a notice in this regard which includes the registration link for interested teachers. As per information teachers of HUB Schools in Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Kerela, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Nagaland, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh are to participate in the workshop.

Each training session will be listed as part of the hub activity. Lead School in each hub is to ensure the availability of venues with a seating capacity of 100+ participants for the training. Based on the availability, Lead Schools will also confirm and arrange for a projector with screen and audio system with microphone for the trainer.

Principals have been requested to nominate their teachers to attend this programme scheduled at the Hub Leader School as per the calendar shared. Applicants can click on the link provided to register for the training program. Prior registration is mandatory.

There are multiple programmes scheduled in each of the cities. A maximum of 100 teachers will be allowed to participate in each session. Teachers can select the programme being conducted in their city, on a first come – first serve basis. The programme will be free of cost for CBSE-affiliated teachers. Teachers may register through the online link to participate in the programme. The invitation link shall be emailed one day prior to the programme on the email ID provided at the time of registration.

CBSE will also award a certificate to all the teachers who have attended the session and submitted feedback. Attendance and feedback will be taken online during the session. SEBI-certified Resource Persons will conduct the training.
