New Delhi, April 23: The installation of 254 4G mobile towers in Arunachal Pradesh was welcomed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday as he expressed his joy in a tweet.

254 4G mobile towers in Arunachal Pradesh have been dedicated to the country, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju stated in a tweet.

According to him, providing 336 isolated communities with high-speed internet will completely change their way of life.

“Momentous occasion for the people of #ArunachalPradesh as 254 4G mobile towers were dedicated to the nation. This high-speed internet facility to 336 remote villages will transform the lives of the people. The border people are extending their gratitude to PM @narendramodi Ji,” Rijiju tweeted on Saturday.

The Prime Minister responded in response to the tweet and tweeted, “Excellent news for furthering connectivity in Arunachal Pradesh.”

254 4G mobile towers were made available to the public on Saturday in Arunachal Pradesh as a result of a collaboration between the Indian government and the northeastern state.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Union Minister of State for Communications Devusinh Chauhan, Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju and Union Minister of Communications Ashwini Vaishnaw were all present at the launch event.

Thousands of people in Arunachal Pradesh would benefit from the mobile towers, which will cover 336 villages.

Residents living in distant areas across the state will have access to high-speed network connectivity.

Separately, the Bharat Net initiative has connected over 1,310 Gram Panchayats with optical fibre, and over 1,156 additional mobile towers are scheduled to boost digital inclusion.

The 5G services were just introduced in Itanagar and will soon be available elsewhere. Notably, Indian telecom service providers began offering fast 5G services in the nation in October 2022.

According to Khandu, the chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh, there has been a transition in his state’s infrastructure since 2014. He said that e-governance and digital inclusion have removed corruption.
