Jamshedpur, Oct 17: In a tragic incident, two men were killed on the spot as the motorcycle they were riding rammed into a stationary truck on the Chaibasa-Seraikela road under Seraikela Thana area late in the night of Monday.

Incidentally, the mishap victims identified as Sohrai Gagrai and Bhanj Kumar Soy were returning home in Seraikela after attending the last rites of a close relative at Chaibasa.

The mishap took place on the unlit Chaibasa-Seraikela road along Rutdih village at about midnight.

On knowing about the mishap, a police party from Seraikela rushed to the spot and rescued both critically injured victims. The police rushed the duo to Seraikela Sadar Hospital where the doctor on emergency duty declared them dead.

Sohrai (55) was the brother-in-law of Bhanj Kumar Soy (45) who had gone to attend the funeral of Soy’s younger brother’s mother-in-law at Chaibasa.

Both Sohrai and Bhanj Kumar Soy would work in an industrial unit at Adityapur industrial area.

It may be mentioned here that fatal mishaps caused by stationary trucks and trailers parked along the roadside continue to be a menace in the Seraikela-Kharsawan district with the police doing little to curb it.
