Amaravati, Oct 31: In relation to the skill development case, the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday granted interim bail to N Chandrababu Naidu, the chief of the Telugu Desam Party and the former state chief minister, for a period of four weeks.
The High Court Advocate Sunkara Krishnamurthy has informed that the TDP chief has been granted interim bail with certain conditions until November 24.
Chandrababu Naidu has been granted bail for health-related reasons and has been instructed to surrender on November 24. The main bail petition will be discussed in court on November 10. He is restricted from engaging in any activities aside from medical check-ups at the hospital. Additionally, the High Court has prohibited Naidu from participating in media and political affairs.
The former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh and leader of the TDP was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on September 9 in relation to the multi-crore skill development scam case. This led to apolitical unrest in the state. Several TDP leaders claimed that Naidu’s detention was a political “witch-hunt” and that the arrest was the result of false accusations.
In addition to the skill development case, Naidu is accused in two other graft cases: the Inner Ring Road scam and the Fibernet scam.
In the meantime, the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) filed a new case against Chandrababu Naidu on Monday in relation to accusations that the previous government unlawfully licensed alcohol companies.
Under the PC Act of 1988, a case against Chandrababu Naidu has been filed. Chandrababu Naidu has been named as accused number three in the case by CID officers.
The ACB court received a petition from the CID officers asking to investigate the case, and the court granted a hearing on the petition.
