Bengaluru: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in Bengaluru from December 8 to December 10, accompanied by cooler temperatures ranging between 19°C and 27°C. The city has already been experiencing light to moderate showers and cooler weather following the emergence of Cyclone Fengal.

Cyclone Fengal’s Impact on Bengaluru Weather

As Cyclone Fengal weakens, its influence on Karnataka’s weather persists. While Bengaluru has seen moderate rainfall, coastal regions of Karnataka have faced intense downpours, causing disruptions in Dakshina Kannada and other areas. Schools in Dakshina Kannada were closed on December 3 due to heavy rain, though Bengaluru schools remain open for now.

The IMD predicts varying rainfall intensity throughout the week, with thunderstorms and cloudy skies expected in Bengaluru. Meteorologists continue to monitor the dissipating cyclone and its lingering effects on the region’s weather.

Authorities Stay Alert

Local authorities in Bengaluru are on high alert, ready to respond to any changes in weather conditions. Public safety remains a priority, with officials prepared to implement safety measures if rainfall intensity increases. Residents are advised to exercise caution, particularly while commuting during rainy periods.

Precautions and Preparations

The IMD and local authorities have urged Bengaluru residents to stay updated on weather forecasts and avoid unnecessary travel during thunderstorms. The city’s preparedness reflects a commitment to minimizing disruptions and ensuring the safety of its citizens.
