New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several transformative railway projects across India today. The virtual ceremony, organized by the Prime Minister’s Office, will commence at 12:30 PM via videoconferencing. These projects aim to enhance connectivity, boost socio-economic growth, and meet regional aspirations.
Key Highlights of the Projects
1.Jammu Railway Division
•The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Jammu Railway Division, spanning 742.1 km.
•Key sections include Pathankot-Jammu-Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla, Bhogpur Sirwal-Pathankot, Batala-Pathankot, and Pathankot-Joginder Nagar.
•The project promises to improve connectivity, generate employment, boost tourism, and foster socio-economic development in Jammu and Kashmir.
2.Charlapalli Terminal, Telangana
•PM Modi will inaugurate the Charlapalli Terminal in Medchal-Malkajgiri district, Telangana.
•Built at an estimated cost of ₹413 crore, the eco-friendly terminal will ease passenger congestion at Secunderabad, Hyderabad, and Kacheguda terminals.
•The terminal’s modern infrastructure is set to enhance the travel experience for passengers.
3.Rayagada Railway Division Building, Odisha
•The foundation stone for the Rayagada Railway Division Building under the East Coast Railway will also be laid.
•The project aims to improve connectivity in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and nearby regions.
•Expected benefits include enhanced trade, improved transport infrastructure, and new employment opportunities.
