New Delhi: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge launched a fierce attack on the Modi government, alleging that governance in the country has been reduced to mere speeches and publicity. Highlighting a string of recent tragedies, Kharge pointed out the frequent occurrence of accidents across India, from railway mishaps to bridges developing cracks immediately after their inauguration.

Bridge Collapse in Gujarat Sparks Criticism

Referring to the recent bridge collapse in Gujarat, where 12 lives were lost, Kharge expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims through a post on social media platform X. He noted reports that warnings about dangerous vibrations in the bridge had surfaced three years ago, yet no action was taken. “This is the seventh bridge collapse in Gujarat since 2021,” Kharge wrote.

Accuses BJP of Governance Failure and Corruption

In his post, Kharge accused the BJP leadership of being preoccupied with speeches and advertisements while neglecting real governance. “The BJP leadership and government have crossed all limits of apathy, busy only in speeches and publicity in the name of governance,” he stated. Kharge added that this reflects a leadership crisis, widespread corruption, and administrative incompetence. He expressed hope that the people of India are observing these failures and will give an appropriate response when the time comes.
