Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar had summoned seven unrecognized political parties to present their case regarding their continued existence on official records. The Election Commission of India (ECI) had issued directions to verify these parties before potentially removing them from the official list due to lack of traceable information.
Only Two Parties Appeared
Out of the seven, only two political parties — Jansadharan Party and Jharkhand Vikas Dal, both based in Ranchi — appeared before the Chief Electoral Officer on Tuesday. Authorized representatives from these parties submitted their statements defending their party’s continued existence.
Five Parties Fail to Respond
The remaining five political outfits failed to respond or appear. These include:
Bharat Vikas Morcha (Deoghar) Bhartiya Janmukti Party (Palamu) Manav Mukti Morcha (Palamu) Naujawan Sangharsh Morcha (Garhwa) Rashtriya Mazdoor Kisan Prajatantrik Party (Ranchi)
These political parties were given until July 15 to submit a written affidavit, followed by an in-person hearing on July 22.
The absence of five parties from the hearing raises questions about their activity and existence. It remains to be seen whether these parties will be delisted or manage to respond at a later stage to retain their political status.
