Ranchi: The Ranchi ACB Special Court on Tuesday rejected the bail plea of Sudhir Kumar Das, an accused in the Jharkhand liquor scam case. The court made its decision after hearing arguments from both the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and the defense counsel.

Public Prosecutor Opposes Bail

Representing the ACB, Special Public Prosecutor Alok Kumar strongly opposed the bail application, asserting the severity of the allegations and Das’s involvement in the scam.

Defense Claims Innocence

In contrast, Advocate Vikrant Sinha, representing Das, argued that his client had no involvement in the liquor scam and should therefore be granted bail.

However, after evaluating both sides, the ACB Court denied bail, marking a continued tough stance on suspects linked to the high-profile scandal.

Background

Sudhir Kumar Das was arrested by the ACB in May for his alleged role in the multi-crore liquor scam. Notably, on Monday, the court had also rejected the bail plea of another accused, also named Sudhir Kumar, in the same case.
