Patna: As the political heat rises in Bihar ahead of elections, actor-politician Manoj Tiwari has stepped into the ongoing controversy surrounding Bhojpuri star Khesari Lal Yadav. The debate began after Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary allegedly referred to Khesari as a “dancer,” a remark that sparked backlash in the Bhojpuri industry.
Manoj Tiwari Backs Artists, Downplays Controversy
Addressing the media, Tiwari said the matter should be put to rest as Samrat Choudhary had already clarified he didn’t use the term “nachaneya.” “But even if he had, what’s wrong with that?” Tiwari asked. “I’m also a performer. We all are artists who act, sing, and dance for entertainment. There’s nothing shameful about it.”
He further cautioned against manipulated media clips, saying, “It’s the age of AI. People create fake videos and circulate them. Samrat Choudhary is my colleague, as are Ravi Kishan and Pawan Singh. We must stay alert to such AI-driven mischief.”
Appeal for Unity in Bhojpuri Film Industry
On Khesari Lal Yadav’s criticism, Tiwari responded, “He’s like a younger brother, and I always welcome him. But my goal is to ensure NDA’s victory and secure Bihar’s future. I don’t use derogatory language for anyone, no matter what others say.”
Tiwari urged Bhojpuri artists to maintain mutual respect, noting that “elections will come and go, but bitterness among artists can harm relationships.” He added, “We should rise above political divides and protect our artistic fraternity from being dragged into politics.”
Comments on Nirahua Controversy
When asked about reports claiming Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirahua’ used the term “Yadmulla,” Tiwari gave a restrained reply. “I haven’t heard it with my own ears, so I cannot comment,” he said.
