Bihar: The Revenue and Land Reforms Department in Bihar is preparing strict action against revenue officials who remain on strike, with a list of absentees being compiled for disciplinary measures.

Deadline Ignored, Action Imminent

The officials have been on strike since March 9, demanding various concessions. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha had directed them to resume duty by March 25, 5 PM, warning of strict consequences for non-compliance. While some officers returned, many failed to join, prompting the department to move ahead with punitive action.

Suspension, Salary Cuts And Service Break Possible

The department is considering measures including suspension, salary deductions, and other disciplinary actions against those who remain absent. Officials indicated that a “break in service” could also be recorded, which may impact future promotions and career progression.

Strike Declared Illegal, Public Services Affected

Authorities have termed the strike illegal, stating that halting work under the guise of mass leave violates service rules. The disruption has significantly affected public services, including land mutation, registration, and other revenue-related processes, causing inconvenience to citizens.

Statewide List Being Prepared For Uniform Action

Detailed reports have been sought from all districts regarding Circle Officers (COs) and other revenue staff who have not resumed duties. The final list will be used to implement uniform action across the state in a phased manner to restore administrative discipline and normal functioning.
