Patna: Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor took the oath of office and secrecy in the Bihar Legislative Assembly on Monday, following his victory in the Bankipur bypoll, with Speaker Prem Kumar administering the oath.
PK Reflects on Legacy of the Assembly
After taking the oath, Kishor described his membership in the Assembly as both an honour and a significant responsibility, noting that the House had earlier been graced by leaders such as Bharat Ratna Karpoori Thakur, Krishna Babu, Anugrah Narayan Singh, Nitish Kumar, Lalu Yadav, Ram Vilas Paswan and Sushil Modi. He said being a member of the same assembly where such leaders once worked was a matter of pride for him, and vowed to draw inspiration from their contributions to work toward Bihar’s betterment.
Kishor Won Bankipur Seat by Over 19,000 Votes
Kishor had secured 64,117 votes in the Bankipur bypoll, defeating his nearest rival, BJP candidate Neeraj Kumar Sinha, by a margin of 19,246 votes.
PK Sets Employment Target for Bankipur Youth
As MLA, Kishor has set a goal of connecting young people in Bankipur with employment opportunities, appealing to youth to submit their resumes at his office. He aims to help at least 10,000 young people find employment opportunities over the next one to two years.
