Ranchi: Registration work at land registry offices across Jharkhand has come to a complete standstill for several days due to a technical server malfunction, with the outage affecting all 42 registry offices statewide and disrupting land and property registration processes.

Applicants Face Uncertainty Over Server Restoration

While the ongoing server issue is causing significant inconvenience to the general public, it is also directly impacting government revenue. Adding to the frustration, applicants have received no clear timeline on when the server is likely to be restored.

People Return Empty-Handed After Visiting Registry Offices

Individuals arriving at registry offices to complete documentation related to land purchases, sales and other property matters are unable to get their work done due to the technical glitch. A large number of registration applications remain pending, forcing applicants to make repeated trips to the office without resolution.

Online Services Also Disrupted

The server issue extends beyond land registration alone, affecting other land-related online services as well, with the entire process from application submission to final processing currently disrupted, further compounding public inconvenience.

Daily Revenue Losses Running into Crores

On a typical day, registry offices across the state process between 700 and 900 registrations, generating approximately Rs 3 to 5 crore in stamp duty and other revenue for the government daily. With the system disrupted for several days now, this ongoing outage is significantly impacting revenue collection as well.
