Dhanbad, Oct 9: Despite the district administration’s warning to take tough action against the persons obstructing coal mining, two criminals hurled two grenades on an outsourcing company’s transport in Barora colliery area on Saturday afternoon.
An official of Ramavtar Outsourcing Company told media that two bike borne criminals hurled two grenades on their Hyva truck when it was returning from the dumping yard. Driver Ghanshyam Kumar and helper Guddu Yadav escaped unhurt as the grenades had low intensity.
Barora police station officer in-charge Neeraj Kumar, on receiving the information reached the spot and began his investigation. “The outsourcing company’s management has not filed any written complaint yet. After getting an official complaint, police would take legal action against the people involved in the bombing,” he said.
Driver Ghanshyam Kumar told the media that he was returning from the coal dump. As the truck reached Dumra- Fularitand main road (around 300 meters away from the company’s office) two people on a bike threw two grenades on the truck.
“One grenade burst on hitting the front of the vehicle while another did not explode,” said the driver.
The driver and helper have claimed to identify the criminals if paraded. It is being said that this was the 4th bombing incident in the colliery in last three months. Criminals often create panic by lobbing grenades in the collieries for extortion from outsourcing companies.
On the other hand, clash for supremacy between supporters of two political parties in the Kejriwal Outsourcing Company in Chaitudih colliery under Katras police station has also reached the district headquarters on Saturday late afternoon.
Katras police station officer in-charge Rasbihari Lal reached the colliery and took several supporters of both the leaders in custody. With this, tension prevails in colliery at the moment.
Interestingly, taking serious notes of regular unrest in the colliery, Deputy commissioner (DC)Sandip Singh had directed to crack down on criminals and leaders obstructing mining in collieries just five days ago (on October 5). He had also directed Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) management to set up Joint Taskforce of police, CISF for immediate checking of criminal activities in collieries and illegal mining.
But criminals have now thrown a challenge in front of the district administration by throwing grenades on the vehicle of the outsourcing company in Barora collieries area.
