Jamshedpur , Dec 9 : Ranchi railway division has got a reason to rejoice.
Ranchi, a A-1 category railway station under South Eastern Railway, was adjudged as the best kept station in the entire S E Railway zone.
Ranchi railway station has adopted mechanised cleaning apart from other passenger friendly initiatives which helped it in getting this laurel. The declaration was made during South Eastern Railway’s 66th Railway Week celebration at Kolkata on Thursday.
Archana Joshi, general manager, South Eastern Railway and other senior officials of the zone hailed the Ranchi railway division for this outstanding feat.
During the week long celebration, as many as 164 selected railway officers and staff including group awardees were felicitated in recognition of their outstanding services and devotion to duty during the year 2020-21.
The ‘Overall Efficiency Shield’ was awarded to Kharagpur division for the best all round performance.
Efficiency Shields in 28 other categories were also awarded to different divisions, workshops and stations.
Ranchi was adjudged as the ‘Best Kept Station’.
Archana Joshi was optimistic over S E Railway’s contribution towards the growth of Indian Railways and complimented the railway employees for their sincere efforts and commendable performance.
She stressed on making all out efforts to attain the satisfaction of passengers and freight customers.
The general manager also appreciated the co-operation extended by various passenger associations and trade union outfits.
