New Delhi, Dec 17: French Defence Minister Florence Parly on her two-day visit to India said on Friday that France truly understands the necessity of Indian content. France is fully committed to the ‘Make in India’ initiative. ‘Make in India’ has been a reality for French industry particularly for Defence equipment like submarines.
Taking on the topic of terrorism she said, “We face both global and regional challenges. The first challenge is terrorism. Terror has struck France and Europe repeatedly and has not spared the Indo-Pacific including India. This threat needs to be addressed in a comprehensive manner.”
“I am delighted to be here. The friendship between France and India is very precious. The trust we have in each other has developed in recent years to such an extent that distance b/w the Ganges and the Seine seems to be lessened,” said the French Defence Minister.
“We’re ready to answer any additional needs or requests that could be made by India. We know that an aircraft carrier will soon be delivered. Aircraft are needed. So we’re open& ready to provide any other Rafale if this is India’s decision,” she added.
Notably, French Defence Minister Florence Parly is on an official visit to India to strengthen Indo-French strategic & defence ties.
