Bihar Board: Intermediate examinations to begin on Tuesday

More than 13 lakh candidates to appear at 1471 centers

Patna, Jan 31: The annual examination of Bihar Board Intermediate is to begin from February 1. The board has completed all the preparations for the exam, which will end on February 14.

The board has set up 1,471 centers in 38 districts for the examination. A total of 13,45,939 candidates are set to appear in the Intermediate examination, of which 6,97,421 will be boys and 6,48,518 will be girls. On the first day, Maths (Science) examination is to be conducted in the first shift on February 1, while the Hindi examination wiil be held in the second shift that will start from 1:45, and last till 5 in the evening. Students of Arts and Vocational courses will attend the exam on Tuesday.

Bihar School Examination Committee Chairman Anand Kishor on Monday said, Section 144 has been imposed at all the centers regarding the examination. Instructions have been given by the committee to all the district officers and superintendent of police of the state to help conduct clean, malpractice free examinations. CCTV cameras will be installed at all the examination centers. A videographer will also be arranged for every 500 candidates. One invigilator will be deputed for every 25 examinees. No examinee and invigilator will carry mobile phones in the examination hall.

In Patna, 78,856 candidates will appear in the examination on Tuesday including 37,817 girls and 41,039 boys. For this 84 centers have been selected. Kishor further said that in the Inter Annual Examination 2022 students will have both objective and subjective questions in the exam. Number of questions will be double the required number of questions in exams.

Students have to enter the center 10 minutes before the commencement of the exam. For the morning examination at 9:30 am, the candidates will have to enter the examination hall by 9:20. Entry to the center will not be allowed if students are late. Divyang candidates will be given additional time of 20 minutes per hour. The board has set a separate 15 minute-gap for the students for reading the question paper. The OMR sheet will be taken at 11 am. After this the exam will end at 12:45. At the same time, the second shift exam will start at 1:45 in the afternoon. OMR for this will be taken at 3:15, while the exam will end at 5 pm.

Kishor also added that those candidates who have photo error in the admit card, have been allowed to appear in the examination. If there is any discrepancy in the photo of the admit card or someone else’s picture is printed, and then the students will have to reach the examination center with their identity card. Students should come to the examination center with Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Passport, Driving License or Bank Passbook with photo. Along with this, the photocopy of the identity card will have to be verified by a gazetted officer and submitted at the examination center. The candidate will have to appear in person along with the original Identity Card.
