Ranchi, Feb.11: An FIR was registered today at Argora police station against a tribal youth, Aryan Kachhap, for his attempt to capture the land of Jharkhand State Housing Board near Sahajanand Chowk in Harmu Housing Colony area.
The FIR is registered under various sections of IPC including 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) on the basis of information of executive engineer of the board, Sanjeev Kumar, explaining the way the youth encroached the board land behind a temple using bamboo boundary and then threatened the housing board junior engineer and the chowkidar who had gone to the see the encroached land of dire consequences.
Contacted the youth for his comment, he denied the allegation saying the land on which the board claims its rights is ‘raiyati’ by nature. He said that he has all the relevant documents claiming his right over the land while the board does not have documents claiming acquisition.
“How come the board deprive me of my land and then implicate me in a false case,” the youth said, denying the allegation and expressing his concern over the development. He said he is a local, having an ancestral house also in the locality.
