15 students get gold medals at Jharkhand Raksha Shakti University convocation

Ranchi, Apr 7: The Jharkhand Raksha Shakti University (JRSU) conducted its first convocation ceremony since it was launched in 2016. Out of the 502 students of the nine departments for both UG and PG courses, a total of 15 were found toppers and awarded with gold medals.

Registrar Dr (Colonel) Rajesh said, “This is the first convocation for this university ever since its conception. Jharkhand Raksha Shakti University is first of its kind in Jharkhand and third in the country for conducting certificate, diploma and degree courses in the field of police science and internal security.”

The registrar further talking of the history of the university said, “Our aim behind establishing the university was to create and disseminate defense and security related knowledge for the promotion of both internal and external security by providing efficient, trained and professional manpower, having expertise in taking upcoming challenges for different types of instances such as terrorism, cyber crime, economic offenses among others.”

Vice-Chancellor P R K Naidu explained future plans for the university and ideas of adding several other courses to the university curriculum. “All our students from the first and second batch might remember how we began with very little infrastructure and built it all up little by little. We plan to further expand the university and add several more courses to the curriculum.” He further gave his best wishes to the graduating students for their future.

The 15 toppers include Adarsh Roy (2020) from PGDD, Nazreen Afroz (2019) from PGC, Nidhi Kumari (2018) from PGC, Sandeep Kumar (2017) from PGC, Saket Kumar (2016) from PGGIS, Ritesh Kumar Tewari (2017) from PGGIS, Jaypratap Kumar (2018) from PGDIS, Harish Mahto (2019) from PGGIS, Sanu Kumar (2019) from MFS, Anurag Deep (2016) from BCACS, Abhishek Kumar (2017) from BCACS, Vineet Kumar (2018) from BCACS, Sanjida Sabnam (2016) from BCACS, Savina Fatma(2017) from BFS and Darkhshan Siddiqui (2018) from BFS.

The topper among toppers was Nidhi Kumari with a score of 86.37 percentile. Kumari is a PG student of Criminology with a specialisation in cyber crime and prevention of the 2018-20 batch. While talking to Lagatar24.com correspondent, she said, “I wanted to do something that is still emerging, which is cyber crime. We are at present focusing on cyber law here. Our practical approach was quite minute as we were focused on the law of it. We have studied all the acts related to cyber law in great detail and even have published papers in this regard over ‘Protection of data as per the emerging law’, and ‘Prison System for women’.
