Dumka, April 20: Police have recovered the dead bodies of a middle-aged woman and her two sons both in their late 20s, from a brick Kiln at Madanshahi village under Jirbabadi police station of Sahebganj district this morning.

The deceased persons have been identified as Shakeela Khatun (55) and her two sons Gul Sheikh (28) and Ali Sheikh (26) who according to the police had together gone to the brick Kiln which they used to run on their own, last night.

Sniffing some foul play in the recovery of the dead bodies, villagers put up a blockade of Sahebganj -Rajmahal road for hours claiming that all the three were murdered and demanded the arrest of the culprits.

Police, however, denied the deaths to be the instance of murder and said that all the three persons died of suffocation from the smoke billowing from the kiln as they attempted to cover it from the plastic sheet to save the fire from the rain after a sudden change in the weather condition late last evening.

“The trio had gone to the brick Kiln been set on fire on Monday itself, to cover the bricks to save them from being damaged in the rain after the sudden change in the weather condition last evening,” the Dy SP (headquarter) Yagya Narayan Tiwari said.

He added that they climbed up to the top of the brick Kiln to cover it from the plastic sheet when they inhaled smoke emanating from beneath and died.

Dy SP further said that the postmortem report performed by a medical board also suggested that the death of the mother and sons duo was caused by suffocation as their chests were found congested with carbon particles.

“There were no injury marks either on the bodies of any of the three deceased persons,” he said and added that the road blockade was removed after payment of interim relief by the block officials.
