Ranchi, May 10: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Pradeep Sinha has alleged officials from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and the Congress for being on the same boat while giving protection to the corrupt.

Sinha levelled the allegation by organising a press conference on Tuesday at the party state headquarters after he came to know that the JMM and the Congress have jointly organised a press conference to raise the issue of price hike.

Sinha said that raising the issue or price hike is their prerogative but while doing so, they have connected it with the issue of election commission notice to Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren which is wrong.

He added that the BJP has nothing to do with the election commission’s notice in which the chief minister was expected to file a reply by 5pm. It is wrong what the JMM and the Congress officials have said regarding the EC’s notice to CM and ED’s raid is an attempt to divert the attention of common people from the issue of price hike.

Sinha said that earlier, the two parties have never addressed a joint press conference but when the time has come to save corrupts, they have come together.

With regard to the price hike, the BJP spokesperson Sinha reminded the tenure of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh when the situation was normal but inflation rate was in double digit.

Contrary to the recent situation of crisis, when Russia and Ukraine are fighting and the union government is leaving no stone unturned to save its citizens. He added that the BJP as an opposition is playing its role of whistle blower and will keep on doing so.

Taking a dig at congress leader Irfan Ansari, who represented Congress party in the press conference, Sinha said that the former was the same man who gave a statement two days ago to media that eight MLAs of congress party are not happy with the government and will soon meet central leadership at New Delhi.

“What miracle took place in these two days that he turned up at the JMM office to address a joint press conference,” Sinha said, indicating how JMM and Congress have come together to save corrupt practices.
