Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who is currently enjoying the box office success of Bhoot Bangla, has undergone a vision correction surgery on his eye and has temporarily paused shooting for his upcoming film on doctor’s advice.
Minor Surgery Performed on May 6
Reports indicate that Akshay had been experiencing vision difficulties for some time. Following medical advice, he underwent a vision correction surgery on the morning of May 6. Although the procedure is described as a minor surgery, doctors have advised him to rest, prompting him to take a short break from work. It is not yet clear when he will return to the shoot.
Was Shooting Anees Bazmee’s New Film
Prior to the surgery, Akshay was busy shooting for director Anees Bazmee’s new film, which also stars Vidya Balan, Rajpal Yadav, and Raashii Khanna. He had completed the Kerala schedule of the film before the surgery and thanked the entire team on social media, describing the Kerala shooting experience as very special.

Akshay Kumar is well known in the film industry for his exceptional fitness and disciplined lifestyle. Even after crossing 50, he continues to work on multiple films each year. This time, however, he has chosen to prioritise his health and take a short break.

Meanwhile, Bhoot Bangla has been putting up impressive numbers at the box office. Within 20 days of release, the film has grossed Rs 175.93 crore and collected Rs 148.25 crore net in India, while its worldwide total has reached Rs 232.78 crore.
