Kolkata: West Bengal’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Manoj Aggarwal has announced that no political party will be permitted to hold victory rallies on Monday as vote counting continues across the state’s 293 assembly constituencies.
Current Election Trends
As counting progresses, BJP has taken the lead on 194 seats while TMC is ahead on 88 seats. The CEO confirmed that the counting process is proceeding smoothly and that no incidents of violence have been reported anywhere in the state so far.
No Victory Processions Today
CEO Aggarwal stated that all District Magistrates have been instructed not to grant permission for any victory rallies on Monday. He clarified that such processions will be permitted from Tuesday onwards, with political parties required to seek prior approval from their local police stations before organizing any rallies.
Zero Tolerance for Post-Poll Violence
The Chief Electoral Officer made it clear that the administration has no tolerance for any post-election violence. The restrictions on victory rallies are being enforced as a preventive measure to ensure peace and order during and immediately after the counting process.
