Ranchi, Oct. 28: A CBI sleuth comprising many senior officials today reached Palamu in Jharkhand in order to probe the genuineness of the encounter that took place on June 8, 2015 at Bakoria under Satbarwa police station of the district.

Security personnel engaged in anti-Naxal operation had killed as many as 12 persons terming them Maoists in the ‘encounter’ while relatives of those killed claimed that except one Dr R.K alias Anurag no one had Maoist connection and the encounter was fake.

The CBI took over the matter on the direction of Jharkhand High Court on October 22, 2018 after relatives of the deceased knocked on the door of the high court for justice raising doubt over the integrity of the crime investigation department of Jharkhand Police.

The CBI so far has recorded statements of 350 persons in the case. Earlier, the CBI had reached the spot on September 13.
