Ranchi, Dec.16: On the first day of the winter session of the Jharkhand assembly led by speaker Rabindra Nath Mahto adopted condolence resolutions over the passing away of the chief of defence staff Bipin Rawat, writer Manu Bhandari, senior journalist Vinod Dua and actor Arvind Trivedi.
The Speaker also made obituary references over the passing of former legislator Sadhucharan Mahto, former speaker of Bihar assembly Sadanand Singh, former minister Oscar Fernandes, and former assembly member Musafir Paswan.
Members of the House observed a two-minute silence in remembering the departed souls.
Apart from the adoption of the condolence resolution, the house also constituted a business advisory committee and business steering committee.
Business advisory committee comprises leader of house Hemant Soren and parliamentary affairs minister Alamgir Alam, besides state minister Satyanand Bhokta, senior legislator C.P.Singh, Sudesh Mahto and Saryu Roy. Special invitee members of the committee include Champai Soren, Rameshwar Oraon, Nalin Soren, Lobin Hembrom, Neelkant Singh Munda, Pradeep Yadav, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Ram Chandra Chandravanshi and Vinod Kumar Singh.
The business steering committee comprises Stephen Marandi, Ram Chandra Chandravanshi, Sita Soren, Naman Vixel Kongari, and Biranchi Narayan.
The house was adjourned till tomorrow at 11am, hardly 45 minutes after the beginning of the session from 11am today.
