Ramgarh, Oct 10: Giridih MP Chandraprakash Choudhary and his supporters have been accused that they thrashed Congress leader Mukesh Yadav and a land owner over the installation of Sardar Vallabh Bhai’s statue at Patel Chowk in Ramgarh on October 9. A written complaint has been lodged against the MP and his supporters at Ramgarh police station.
According to the information, Giridih MP Chandraprakash Chaodhary had gone to a program organized by AJSU to install the statue at Patel Chowk. The place where the statue was to be installed was said to be occupied by someone else. It is alleged that when the land owner and Congress leader Mukesh Yadav objected to the installation, MP Chandraprakash Chaodhary along with his supporters beat them.
Congress district president Munna Paswan said, “Our party workers have been thrashed by Giridih MP Chandraprakash Chaodhary. Congress will never tolerate this. If the district police administration does not take strict action against the MP and his supporters, the Congress will be forced to launch a fierce agitation.”
When contacted Giridih MP from his comments, he said, “The allegations are baseless and wrong allegations are being made against me. I have not assaulted anyone. We had gathered to install the statue of Patel Ji. We were given the land by NHAI by fixing the place to install the statue. NHAI made the space available by dodging and equalizing the space. If the land belongs to someone else then it is for the Circle Officer of Ramgarh to decide. How can anyone come and stop the program?”
