Daltonganj, Dec12: Daltonganj town police conducted a two day gold identification parade among the 7 victims of lockers of the united bank of India which were pilfered gold and gold contents were stolen and informed the SP Palamu, Chandan Kr Sinha.
Nearly 2 kg of stolen gold and gold contents were recovered and the 7 victims got 40 percent to 95 percent of their gold and gold contents back.
With this, the town police had won the hearts of not only the victims but of the entire locker holders of all the banks in the town.
SP dubbed the effort of the town police as tremendous. CO sadar was the presiding magistrate in the two-day gold identification parade. Police are now on the trail of one accused Rishu.
There was joy and tension both among the 7 victims. Those who got back less than 50 percent of their stolen gold and gold contents were disappointed. They are planning to sue the United bank of India either through civil suit or through the criminal case which will be bunched with the FIRs lodged earlier.
“The victims showed patience and understanding both as any dispute or contest in regard to the claim could have put the recovered gold and gold contents in limbo,” said SP.
“All the 7 victims trusted the police. This is the first episode of such kind in the country where stolen gold from the lockers were restored to the victims”, he added.
