New Delhi, Nov 22: A Special Court of Rouse Avenue Court on Tuesday sought a response from Tihar Jail authorities regarding Delhi Minister Satyendar Jain’s request for a directive to provide food in accordance with his religious beliefs and to immediately carry out a medical examination of the applicant, which has been overdue since October 21.
The matter of Satyender Jain’s food and health situation was scheduled for tomorrow by Special Judge Vikas Dhull, who also sent notice to the Tihar Jail Administration.
The same Court also heard the thorough arguments in a motion for contempt filed by Satyneder Jain’s legal team accusing ED of leaking CCTV footage of Satyender Jain despite a promise not to leak any content of that pen drive containing video taken inside Tihar Jail.
The case was scheduled for November 28, 2022, by the court.
In his petition, Satyendar claimed that the jail staff had ceased to give him basic dietary items, such as fruits, vegetables, mixed seeds, dry fruits, and dates, in accordance with his religious views. Since the applicant has been on a religious fast for the past six months, his subsistence, nourishment, and existence depend on his consumption of these staple foods.
