New Delhi, Nov 25: Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister of Delhi, was not named in the chargesheet that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) submitted on Friday in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case. The inquiry, however, against Sisodia is still going on as per the agency.
The CBI has only now submitted its first chargesheet in relation to the case which listed seven people as defendants in the case, including Hyderabad-based businessman Abhishek Boinpally and AAP’s communication coordinator Vijay Nair.
The chargesheet also lists the liquor trader Sameer Mahendru, Boinpally’s assistant Arun Pillai, Mutthu Gautam, and two former excise department employees as additional defendants.
According to the chargesheet, additional inquiries into the public officials’ and other people’s participation in various matters, including conspiracy with licensees and related money trails, are still open. Later on, a supplemental chargesheet will be submitted.
Before taking cognizance of the 10,000 page documents, the court will hold a hearing on November 30 to consider them.
