Ranchi: Several parts of Jharkhand remain under the grip of intense heat, with temperatures crossing 43 degrees Celsius in some areas. The weather department has issued a heat wave warning for multiple districts, including Bokaro and Dhanbad.
Severe Heat Across the State
During the last 24 hours, the highest temperature in the state was recorded at 43.4 degrees Celsius in Daltonganj, Palamu. Gumla reported the lowest minimum temperature at 17.7 degrees Celsius.
Jamshedpur, Chaibasa, and Seraikela each recorded maximum temperatures of 42.4 degrees Celsius. Bokaro touched 42.1 degrees Celsius, while Pakur recorded 41.1 degrees Celsius. Ranchi remained comparatively lower at 38.6 degrees Celsius.
Heat Wave Warning for April 22 and 23
The weather department has warned that heat wave conditions may affect parts of northeastern and central Jharkhand on April 22 and 23. Districts likely to be impacted include Bokaro, Dhanbad, Jamtara, and Dumka.
Residents have been advised to avoid direct sun exposure, stay hydrated, and take precautions during peak daytime hours.
Weather Change Expected From April 24
Relief may begin from April 24, when thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds of 30 to 40 kmph are expected in Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, Giridih, Godda, Jamtara, Pakur, and Sahibganj.
On April 25, stronger winds of 40 to 50 kmph along with rainfall are likely in Ranchi, Bokaro, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Khunti, Koderma, Lohardaga, Ramgarh, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Simdega, and Seraikela-Kharsawan.
Rain Likely Till April 28
Between April 26 and 28, partial cloud cover and light to moderate rain with thunder activity may occur across the state. Ranchi is also expected to receive rain and cloudy weather during this period after two dry days.
