Ranchi: Jharkhand Police has gone on high alert ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections. Security has been intensified in districts bordering Bengal, with several checkpoints sealed and movement being closely monitored.

Border Districts Under Special Watch
Authorities have increased surveillance in Sahibganj, Pakur, Godda, Dumka, Jamshedpur, Jamtara, Dhanbad, and East Singhbhum. These districts are being treated as sensitive zones during the election period.

Additional police forces have been deployed to prevent any disturbance and maintain law and order.

Critical Zones Identified
Officials have classified certain border areas as critical zones because they connect directly with several districts of West Bengal. Security agencies fear these routes could be misused during the elections, leading to stricter vigilance.

More Than 50 Check Posts Activated
Over 50 check posts have been set up in border areas. Police and security personnel are thoroughly inspecting all vehicles, luggage, and suspicious movements. Vehicle trunks and carried items are being checked to stop the transport of illegal or objectionable materials.

Strict Orders from Police Headquarters
Police headquarters has directed station in-charges of border police stations to increase patrolling and maintain continuous surveillance. Officials said security measures may be tightened further during the polling period to ensure peaceful voting.
