New Delhi, August 11: The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ motorbike rally was flagged off on Friday from New Delhi’s Pragati Maidan by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar.

The government has stated that individuals can purchase national flags from their local post office for a reasonable price of Rs 25, just as last year, as part of Har Ghar Tirangan Abhiyan 2.0. With this effort, residents will be encouraged to feel patriotic and be proud of their country.

As the rally moved forward, supporters yelled slogans like “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata ki Jai.”

The rally attendees included Union Ministers G Kishan Reddy, Anurag Thakur and Shobha Karandlaje.

Union Ministers Arjun Ram Meghal and G. Kishan Reddy said that on August 15 and January 26, every citizen ought to display the tricolour at their homes.

Arjun Meghwal said, “Every citizen should display the tricolour in their homes on 15 August and 26 January. This is the duty of the citizens. This year 15 August is special because it marks the conclusion of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’…”

“On Independence Day on 15 August, the citizens of the country should display the tricolour at their homes. This is the concluding program of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and everyone should be a part of it…”  said, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy.

The General Post Office in Kolkata is preparing for the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan 2.0’ as the 76th Independence Day approaches by selling the Tricolour for Rs 25 and inspiring people to feel a sense of patriotism.

The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign was launched by the Indian government last year under the auspices of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM)’, the campaign was a huge success in 2022, with 23 crore families physically hoisting the Tiranga at their homes and 6 crore individuals uploading selfies on the HGT website.

The government previously announced that India Post will facilitate the sale of the national flag through its 1.6 lakh post offices this year to honour the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign.

Bidhan Chandra Roy, Chief Postmaster General for the circles of West Bengal, Sikkim and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, has expressed the goal of surpassing last year’s achievement of selling approximately 450,000 national flags this year.

On his monthly radio show Mann Ki Baat earlier this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged his fellow citizens to carry on the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’ tradition this year as well.
