Dhanbad, Feb 25: The top authorities of BIT Sindri and SAIL Burnpur today set up an agenda on Fourth Industrial Revolution ( Industry 4.0) and discussed how to implement it jointly.
BIT Sindri director Prof DK Singh said that we discussed how to train B.Tech, M. Tech and PhD students with new technology and techniques for solving industrial problems so that the gap between technical institutions and industry could be patched up.
SAIL Burnpur executive director Dr Rajiv Kumar while expressing satisfaction over meeting with BIT authorities said that his team has identified some industrial problems that would be given to BIT Sindri students for solving them.
“It would be a mega project to be implemented jointly by SAIL Burnpur and BIT Sindri,” said Dr Rajiv Kumar.
Sanjiv Ranjan Das, chief general manager (CGM) of SAIL, presented a report over the industrial problems identified by SAIL. He said converters, re-hitting furnishings and development of Mills Digital Twine are the main problems.
Dipak Jain (CGM), Dipak Kumar ( senior manager), Vikash Kumar (manager) of SAIL shed light on the project and problems at the meeting.
From BIT Sindri side, Dean, academic, Prof Pankaj Roy, Dean, student welfare Prof Upendra Prasad, HoDs of all the departments were also present at the meeting.
On the occasion, students of different faculties showcased their Model Project to the visiting SAIL authorities. The SAIL officers also inaugurated ‘ Techfest 23’ on the campus.
Prof Rajiv Ranjan conducted the function. Prof Md Abul Kalam, Prof Ghanshyam and Prof Rvjiv Verma also addressed the function.
