Dhanbad, May 24: Fertilizer Corporation of India (FCI) VSS Employees Welfare Association Sindri has urged the Hindustan Urvarak Rasayan Limited (HURL) management to renovate the Sindri health centre as per negotiation with the managing director of the company and district administration in the interest of over 50,000 residents.
FCI VSS Employees Welfare Association today shot off a memorandum to HURL group general manager Sindri to renovate Sindri Primary Health Centre from CSR fund in the interest of the people of Sindri as HURL management has initiated a massive development project for the region.
“During the Covid period, HURL managing director and the then deputy commissioner (DC) Dhanbad Umashankar Singh had in a separate meeting with FCIVSS Employees Welfare Association assured to develop Sindri Health and Wellness Clinic into a 20 beds hospital with advance diagnostic machines and path testing facilities. But with the end of the Corona pandemic, no step has been taken in this regard so far,” said Sewa Singh, the president of FCI VSS Employees Welfare Association.
The president after a meeting of the association in a memorandum to the HURL Group General Manager has also pointed out that senior citizens and economically backward people live in Sindri Township in large numbers and are not in a position to get treatment out of Sindri.
“So you are requested to develop the Sindri Health and Wellness Clinic from the CSR fund of the company so that residents of Sindri get basic treatment facilities,” said Sewa Singh in his memorandum to general manager HURL.
After the closure of FCI Sindri, the government opened a Health and Wellness Clinic in Saharpura of Sindri for catering to health care in the township. Two ANM and a medical officer have also posted there. But it is alleged that doctors hardly come to the health centre.
Even for minor treatment, Sindri denizens have to travel either 4 km away to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Gaushala or around 8 km away to Chasnala community health centre (CHC). CHC Baliapur block also comes around 10 km away from them.
